The fundamental question: when LLM agents interact at scale over extended horizons, do they develop collective structure analogous to human societies?

The answer is no. The diagnostic framework reveals three levels of failure:

Society-level: Global semantic averages stabilize rapidly, but this stability masks persistent lexical turnover and high local diversity. The system achieves dynamic equilibrium — stable in aggregate but fluid and heterogeneous at the individual level. This is not homogenization. It is dynamic balance without convergence.

Agent-level: Individual agents exhibit profound inertia rather than adaptation. This is the most striking finding: interaction without influence. Agents ignore community feedback and fail to react to interaction partners. Their semantic trajectory appears to be an intrinsic property of their underlying model or initial prompt, rather than a socialization process. Dense interaction produces no co-evolution.

Collective-level: The society fails to develop stable collective influence anchors. Influence remains transient with no emergence of persistent leadership or supernodes. Cognitively, the community suffers from deep fragmentation — lacking shared social memory and relying on hallucinated references rather than grounded consensus on influential figures.

The conclusion is direct: scale and interaction density are insufficient to induce socialization. In human societies, sustained interaction leads to norm internalization, adaptive expectation formation, and collective structure emergence.
